#OOTD: A Little Bit of Blue

It was kind of chilly, overcast, and rainy today, but in that really romantic melancholy that poets write about. The morbid beauty of fall is something I've always found fascinating, and as I was home for Thanksgiving and had the opportunity, I really wanted to take some pictures. I'm wearing some weather-friendly warm stuff here; a fabulous fleece bomber that I recently bought, with a turtle neck and my new favorite jeans.

Uniqlo Fleece Bomber Jacket
H&M Black Stole Scarf

Just look at me admiring that tree. So deep. Such hipster.

Carhartt Beanie
BDG via Urban Outfitters High Waisted Twig Leg Jeans (Quilted)

Here I wanted to look off into the distance to increase the indie credibility of this photo. I succeeded greatly.

So quirk.

 Asos Cropped Turtleneck

Yes good. Touch the tree. I got this turtleneck to be slightly oversized in a still fitted kind of way so it was long enough to wear with midrise pants or ensure no midriff with high waisted bottoms. It's also great for hiding my Thanksgiving food baby.

Uniqlo Down Hooded Vest

Staring deep into your soul. I like to pull a Uniqlo and layer this down vest under my fleece bomber for that urban effortless chic (that actually requires Herculean effort)

Don't worry, you're staring at my pants area for a reason. CHECK OUT THIS QUILTED STICH UGGHHHHH IT'S EVERYTHING.

Strawberry Chelsea Rain Boots

These shoes are really great for when it's weathering outside, I love them so much they give me so many feelings omg.

Dude! You Need to Listen to This...- Indie Cred Countdown

Whether you're looking for some new music, or just want some cool jams to chill to, I've got together a nice handful of six indie tracks that I've been into lately. *knuckle cracks* Let's get into it:

6. Ella Eyre - Deeper

I've very recently discovered Ms. Eyre, whom I assume is of no relation to the fictional governess in Charlotte Brontë's novel. Please excuse the awful Literary joke. Anyway, I fancy she's what would happen if Adele, Lorde, and Rita Ora had a musical baby. You think I'm being ridiculous, but you'd get it if you gave her single "Deeper" a listen.

5.  James Blake - Life Round Here (ft. Chance the Rapper)

I've featured this song in one of my outfit videos, and I've included it in here because I've been listening to it constantly for a month or so, and I really love it. The collaborative effort between Chance the Rapper and James Blake to in effect remix his original song "Life Round Here" has a nice soulful foundation that gives its chiller vibes a nice compliment. Extra points if you watch the behind the scenes video on the Noisey channel.

4.  Bastille - Sleepsong

I LOVE BASTILLE SO MUCH OKAY. This song is really awesome, off their deluxe album, "All This Bad Blood" I've put the album sampler up before, but this song speaks really strongly to me. It's basic Bastille fare: not quite pop-punk, all the way awesome.

3. The Pretty Reckless - Heaven Knows

I've been a fan of The Pretty Reckless since it's beginnings after Taylor Momsen began her break from Gossip Girl. They deserve all the recognition they get, the band' music is bringing hard rock back to our Generation.

2. The Neighbourhood - Say My Name/Cry Me A River

I'm beginning to make it tradition to include a cover on these playlists, but this one is seriously awesome. I love when artists maintain the integrity of a song by keeping the original lyrics in tact despite gender differences. Jesse Rutherford is so cute too omg. The band may be familiar for their hit summer jam, Sweater Weather. I highly recommend checking out their recently released album, "I Love You".

1. FKA twigs - Water Me

What can I say about FKA twigs? She's awesome, fantastic, amazing, and super-cool. Hailing from England, the artist is redefining hip hop, and R&B. The music video is a bit weird, though, I don't it know dances along the line of the uncanny valley of cgi.

#OOTD: *Gasp* I'm wearing a color! Also, an inordinate amount of Urban Outfitters.

Today I did the unthinkable. I wore something with color. If you haven't already noticed, I rarely (read: never) wear anything that isn't black, white, or gray. BUT TODAY IS A DIFFERENT DAY. Not really.

Tucker Button Up
Urban Outfitters Sweatshirt
BDG via Urban Outfitters High-Waisted Jeans
Converse Chuck Taylors
Urban Outfitters Ring
Urban Outfitters Bracelet
Asos Watch

Anyway despite my keen dislike for color, I threw on this surprisingly inoffensive floral button up under a sweatshirt and quilted high-waisted jeans with my white chucks. I'm also wearing my new Tokyomilk rollerball. Yes, good. Smell very nice. It was the perfect comfy, and urban preppy outfit to chill in and go to class. How do you like my mismatched socks and Cristiano Ronaldo poster? In other news. I'm still one big lazy that hasn't posted a recipe, or anything else, but I have some free time (really this time), because I just handed in some of the last papers of the semester. We've got some catching up to doooooo!

#OOTD: I'm Boring and Lazy

I haven't posted in a while, and I frankly have no excuse other than I'm lazy and I decided to give myself a break to do school and stuff. I figured I'd try something different and post a video of my outfit instead of pictures to make up for my laziness.

Uniqlo T-Shirt
Sparkle and Fade via Urban Outfitters Leather Jacket
H&M Hoodie
Gap Leggings
Asos Watch
Forever 21 Ring (Left Hand)
Ebay Ring (Right Hand)
Ebay Cut Out Boots
Ebay Commes de F**kdown Beanie

This outfit is pretty boring on the whole, just some leggings, a t-shirt, and a leather jacket/hoodie combination. I was going to Lecture today and it was windy as eff and chilly, so I just threw a big black scarf over my neck and was on my way. Enjoy my terrible video editing and painful awkwardness as I try to show off my boring outfit. At least I live in New York where this kind of thing is allowed. The song in the video is Water Me by FKA twigs, who is amazing and I am probably doing a post on her soon. In other news, I'm working on another recipe post and possibly post on what I've been eating over the week which I think would be nice. Also, I'm planning to write a book and movie review in the near future so stay tuned.

LET YOUR FREAK FLAG FLY YAAASSSSSS.

#OOTD: Do I have a Uniqlo Addiction and Watching Ender's Game

OMG U GUYS I'M SO EXCITE FOR ENDER'S GAME OMG !!!!111!!!!11!!!!!

Sparkle and Fade via Urban Outfitters Leather Jacket
YAYA: Nom de Plume Step Hem Shift Dress
Uniqlo Heatech Over the Knee Socks
Uniqlo Wool Fedora

It's chilly as all heck today so I'm wearing my new merino wool sweater I picked up yesterday in SOHO Uniqlo. I'm going to need to be warm because I'm going shopping again in Midtown.... you guessed it, Uniqlo. I don't have a problem, I swear! The sweater is XXL, so I cut slits up the sides to give it some interest and so I'm not totally swallowed in it. I also want to be warm because later, we're watching Ender's Game, and you know how notoriously cold movie theaters are. Also check out this trippy reflection filter on my camera.

Uniqlo Merino Wool Sweater
Forever21 Necklace

Wearing a baggy sweater over a shapeless shift dress can be made to be flattering if you have well placed cut outs, like the step hem on my dress which hits right and the nicest part of the thighs and the high side slits I cut into the sweater

Forever21 Knot Ring
Boutique Claw Ring

Wearing this seriously hazardous ring to poke my roommate with so she doesn't fall asleep during the movie.

Ebay Cut Out Boots

My favorite boots in the world omg.

#OOTD: Baby, it's RLY Cold Outside

UGH WHY DID I ONLY WEAR A JACKET TODAY IT WAS FREEZING OMG SO COLD SO COLD.
Sparkle and Fade via Urban Outfitters Leather Jacket
Uniqlo Men's Thermal Shirt
American Apparel Riding Pants

This is what happens when you get dressed before checking the weather. I went down to class and then a bit of shopping in SOHO and I was freezing and sad :( I'm also pretty sure how cold I was influenced what I bought because I ended up picking up sweaters and a scarf. Oh, btw, H&M is doing a ridiculous $5 sale on pashmina-esque scarves that look like the big plaid Zara ones everyone has that cost like $50-$60.

Forever21 Necklace
Brandy Melville Hair Band

I chose to accessorize with this dainty stud-look necklace and a printed hair tie

Forever21 rings
Asos Watch

I think I wore these rings in an outfit before but they're really easy to throw on with silver jewelry, and they look good with my white watch.

Converse Chuck Taylor Hi-Tops

I promised myself I'd wear these more because I've literally only worn my cut out boots, and chelsea rain boots for days so I figured these would give me a cute injection of urban hipster.

Fashion Film: Chriselle Lim and the Multi Transforming Trench Coat

I have big heart eyes for this video. Chriselle Lim is one of those genuinely creative stylists on YouTube who have real-life style, not the generic trendy stuff that clogs up most of the industry. This video's trippy editing and upbeat music goes hand in hand with the quirky cute ways Lim styled this to-die-for coat. Although she doesn't completely speak to my personal style aesthetic, she definitely evokes a stylish cool anyone should want to embody themselves.
